DAY 1: DENPASAR/BALI - BANYUWANGI/EAST JAVA
Morning departure from your hotel in Bali. Drive along the island's scenic west coast, a slice of real Bali few tourist see. Stop for photos of some terraced rice fields, rustic villages, surging surf beaches during the two and half hour drive to Gilimanuk. Short ferry crossing over the strait to Java. Proceed to a city tour in the small town of Banyuwangi with Bechak (Pedi-cab) ride visiting the kampongs in the city, traditional market and Chinese temple. End of the afternoon drive to Ijen Resort & Villas, your luxurious accommodation perched at the edge of the rainforest in the foothills of the volcanoes.
Overnight in mountain tranquility.

DAY 2: IJEN CRATER
Terraced Rice FieldsEarly wake-up call. After breakfast at the hotel drive to the village of Licin and then in four wheels drive vehicle to the slope of Mount Ijen, passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few left in the island of Java with giant ferns and big trees. Pause at the Park Rangers post before hiking further up to the slope of the crater. About one hour and a half to two hours is needed to ascend the rim of the crater along a shady track with amazing views. Take a rest on the edge of the crater at 2883 meter altitude. The sulfuric lake reflects eerie color over the surrounding walls to give an apocalypse like impression. Men seeking sulfur descend into the crater and climb back up along the dangerous rim with loads of up to 80 kilos on their shoulder. The crater observation will take at leisure. Afterwards drive back to the hotel for lunch and in the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Ijen Resort and Villas.

DAY 3: IJEN RESORT - KALI SELO GIRI - DENPASAR
Coffee PlantationDepart early in the morning to Kali Sero Giri, a beautiful located plantation of coffee. This is oneof the plantation which established by Dutch colonial government in the region. Banyuwangi has a significant numbers of plantations of coffee, cocoa, clove and rubber. All those plantations still run very well and represent the most important resources in the area. The visit covers the coffee processing plant, the plantation itself and the cultural side of the life of the planters with their labour in habitants. Lunch in a local restaurant near the port and then cross the strait for back to Bali.
